According to a report from economic consultants Lombard Street research, it would cost our economy $18 trillion dollars to prevent global warming. We don't have to be reminded that $18 trillion is a lot of money but they do remind us by saying that it is
equilvalent to 45 percent of the worlds gross domestic product for one year. Of course big numbers will scare us, but where are these numbers coming from? They come from the same people that want to make us think that it's better to learn how to deal with "higher sea levels and freak weather, net of land gains in Canada, Siberia and other cold areas in thousands of square miles" than try to prevent global warming before it prevents us from living. Preventing global warming would not be free either. Money would have to be sacrificed to help prevent global warming because we will be consuming less energy and fossil fuels, but it does not take as much money as they want you to think it does. The thing is, this is a huge problem and we do not and cannot wait for our officials to start doing something because the truth is they will not start until we will. Using less electricity in your home, using ur car less and eating healthier can all help our environment. It doesn't cost much, that's just an excuse to procrastinate and put this off for all long as they can but we can't do that or else we will be paying an expensive price, the toll the global warming has taken on the earth.
